threading

Posted in great tips!, just wanted to share by tokyostargirl on August 23, 2008

The day before I left, I went to get my eyebrows threaded. I have been growing out my brows so that the threading artist could shape it for me. For some reason I am really good at working with other people’s brows, but not my own. I am a specialist in plucking men’s brows – just ask my guy friends. =)

For those of you who have never heard of threading – (according to wikipedia) – It’s an ancient method of hair removal which originated in India.

“Practitioners use a pure, thin, twisted cotton thread which is rolled over untidy hairlines, moustaches and so on, plucking the hair at the follicle level. Unlike tweezing where a single hair is pulled out each time, threading can remove an entire row of hair, resulting in a straighter line.”

If you’ve never tried it, I highly suggest it. I think it’s way better than waxing or plucking. I was in and out in about 5 minutes (luckily the day I went there was no line – usually there is.) If you’re from Houston, there are tons of places on Hillcroft.

I’ve always wanted to try this but I am a chicken of anything possibly involving pain. :/ Is it painful? Thanks for the comment, you’re so sweet. I love your eye makeup by the way, the color complements your already gorgeous eyes! 🙂

be careful as to who does it. some people do a good jobsome doesn’t. i got mine threded and I had so many ingrowns as I kept picking on it it turned to acne!!!! I think she threded with her mouth in her string so basically its almost like she was licking my face. I am now on an acne face product just to make it better =(

You have NICE brows to begin with. I think my skin is too sensitive for threading 😦
