new do!
I decided to have an “I Love Me” day today. I was roaming the streets of Harajuku in hopes of some good finds.. and boy did I find some!ย I came home with 3 bags FULL of goodies, including new boots, 2 jackets, a shirt, 2 dresses, and a load of scarves (that you will have a chance to get your hands on soon!) and I also had the craziest shopping experience ever! It seemed like most stores were having a huge sale and there were thousands of women trying to catch the same deals – shopkeepers were shouting about their sales in every direction and women were pushing each other to get in on the action… CRAZY!
As I was walking towards one of my favorite shops, a guy with a super cool sense of style approached me.. normally I can just say “I don’t speak Japanese” and they leave me alone, but this guy tried his best to keep the conversation going… I give him props because he successfully lured me into getting a haircut! Basically they were having a “campaign” and he was offering me a really good deal and since I was actually looking to get my hair cut soon – I went for it. I was lead down the backstreets of Harajuku and as I was following him I became a little worried and realized I had NO idea where he was taking me or what kind of people would be working on my hair. hahaha. Thank goodness we arrive at this salon called “Yu Castle” and it was fabulous! There were tons of people inside and I was treated like a princess. =) I started off telling the hairstylist I wanted to keep my length and just add some bangs, but by the end of it – I told her just to chop all of it off… and do something wild. She got scissor happy and snipped away about 8 inches! ahhhhh! It’s ok – hair grows back. It’s about time I do something to my hair that is outside of my comfort zone. When in Japan – do as the Japanese do. =)
the cool guy who recruited me
