New Fall Blush Tip

Posted in blush, great tips!, tofd (tip of the day) by tokyostargirl on September 10, 2009

I LOVE how there are just sooooo many ways to work with blush! Just read this tip from Glamour today and heck yeah – this is what I do some days already! It really does give you rosy hue – try it – you’ll like it. =) Though I still blush up to my temples some days as well. =)

You may have heard that everything ’80s is back this fall. The one old-school trend that isn’t ready for a comeback? Thick too-bright blush. If you’re still doing the sweep the blush up to your temples thing, here’s a quick 3.0 blush lesson. The new way to wear blush is more of a soft flush that starts at the apples, sweeps down across the lower part of your cheeks and is subtly blended so that it looks like your own rosy hue. To get the kind of natural-looking glow Beverly Hills 90210 star Shenae Grimes always seems to have, I find it easiest to use a cream blush, applying it right on top of your cheeks with your fingers and blending down and out to the side. (Try Nars Cream Blush Cheek Color in Penny Lane, a celeb makeup artist favorite.) Next, dab a little on your temples and then dab some more onto your eyelids–from the inside of the crease to just above the crease–to pull the blush color into the rest of your makeup look. It’s like a quickie makeover, with just one product!

A great dupe for the Nars cream blushes are the cream blushes from NYX. I have so many and they have yet to disappoint me. I also just started using the Revlon one and the consistency is great as well.
