  2. hey there, i remember surfing your xanga site a couple of years ago (i’m a member of a UT blogring) and i was also teaching in japan. kagoshima to be exact. due to a whirl of bad decisions and unfortunate events, i somehow found my way back in houston and quite honestly, i hate it here :P haha

i skimmed through some of your entries and noticed that you had returned to texas before returning to japan. when i first came back to houston, i was really homesick too. it was so difficult to get re-acclimated to life here because i love life in japan so much more.

i’ve only been back for 2 years but there’s not a single day where i don’t think about defecting back to japan. :P

just wanted to leave a random comment. what school do you work for anyway?

    • Hi Lisa!
Thanks so much for writing! It’s always good to hear from people who stumble upon my blog! I LOVE Kagoshima, one of my really close friends is from there – I have been a few times to visit him. It’s quite different from Tokyo though, I must admit. hahaha. Did you ever get to come to Tokyo?
Yes I moved back home last year and then came back this year. You should, too! =) Actually I might leave next year though – perhaps hop to another country. I’m not ready to go back to Houston again though – that’s for sure. I’d love to hear more from you. =)

  3. Hi Jeannie, thanks for replying! I did in fact go to Tokyo for New Year’s Eve in 2005. It really IS different from Kag. Kag is a little more country and not as fast paced. But Tokyo definitely has its charm as well. Lotta hot boys there too, heh :P I used to live in an inaka called Izumi. Have you ever been there? 10,000 cranes every winter, that’s what it’s known for :P

I was considering returning to Japan once I finish my pre-reqs for Pharmacy school but with the recent downturn in the economy, I’m a little wary. How is employment for teachers looking there?
