Doctor Fish
I heard about Doctor Fish, but didn’t have a chance to try it out. I am always up for an adventure – so why not? =) We went to this CAFE where you can pay extra to get this doctor fish treatment. We were excited about doing this, but when the time came – we TOTALLY chickened out. We only had 15 minutes and the guy kept telling us that our clock was tickin, but we didn’t even care! Those fish were so scary looking. They were a lot bigger than we imagined and they kept opening their mouths ready to suck our dead skin. We just couldn’t do it, but we tried really hard.. we held hands as we tried to at least stick one foot in just so we could know what it felt like. One bite and we were through. I’ll never forgot how nervous I felt that day.
“Doctor fish is the name given to two species of fish: Garra rufa and Cyprinion macrostomus. Other nicknames include nibble fish, kangal fish, little dermatologists and doctorfishen. The fish are like combfishes in that they only consume the affected and dead areas of the skin, leaving the healthy skin to grow, with the outdoor location of the treatment bringing beneficial effects. The spas are not meant as a treatment option, only as a temporary cure for symptoms, and patients usually revisit the spas every few months.” WIKIPEDIA
Our friend, Rika managed to capture this moment. It was during the 10 seconds that we managed to stick one foot in. Look how serious/scared we look. hahaha. We’re so dramatic.
You guys look really scared, but at least you tried, I have heard of this but I am scared to try it too.
I would’ve chickened out too!!
But I still want to try it. So weird!!

I’ve heard about this too and am quite curious.
I know i would chicken out though if given a chance.
I just read that they will not allow it in the US because there wouldn’t be a good way to disinfect the water after each use.
Awwww… I tried one too while I was in the Phils at the Ocean Park. It was cool huh?
You girls look so scared in the pic…:)
My mom was JUST telling me about how her co-worker’s father had that done when he went to Japan (I think). That is so scary. I would probably be acting dramatic too. Haha.
